It really does happen!

There have been three times recently where God has really showed his crazy love for me, and his unique ability to provide and teach at the same time!

This whole story takes place about a month ago, and it was during a time where I felt a huge strain financially. I worked at a restaurant at the time, and I sadly wasn't getting the best hours, length wise, and time of day wise, since NO ONE came in the time of day I worked. As a waitress I relied on tips, and since there was no one coming in, I didn't get any tips, which meant I was making close to no money.

Many people I'm sure could have just shrugged this problem off, and kept going, after all, I really just had to pay for gas...But no...not me! It consumed my thoughts day and night, and I didn't give the subject a rest. Quite honestly, it stressed me out!!!

The fun part starts when I was invited to attend a birthday party at my friends house about 2 1/2 hours away from my house. Y'all gas is not cheep, and I did the math and figured that it would be about $80 of gas money to get there! But no big deal! Because my sister was also coming and we would split the gas money...until she was scheduled for work, and COULDN'T GET THE DAY OFF!! So now I was spending $80 to get there...wowza I was not prepared for that!

So go figure, I started to get stressed out about that! But I went anyways because I love my friend and I decided I wasn't going to worry about it anymore (I know I know, I'm so mature...(; ) The party was super fun, and as we were on our way to a gym to play volleyball, I just mentioned that I was going to quick stop to get some gas. Overhearing this, one of her parents came up to me privately and paid for my gas!!! I was blown away by their generosity, and was so so grateful.

When I got home I went and told my momma what they did, and she replied with

"WOW Lyds, God is taking care of you!"

And it hit me...That was God providing for me! Well, this really juts opened my eyes to the fact that God CAN help me out in this area.

About a day or two after this happened, my phone started to go nuts, and I REALLy needed a new one! Well, yet again another SUPER expensive item I would need to pay for, and I wasn't exactly raking in the cash.

I had gone in the day before to the Verizon store and looked at my options, the cheapest I could find was about $20 a month. So I went home and was planning on going back and getting it the next day.

The whole night I could not sleep because I was just so worked up over this purchase. This is when I had the brilliant realization that I should probably talk to God about it and get his take. And what I clearly heard him say was this,

"How about instead of focusing on what you don't have, you expect me to do something on your behalf?"

And I was kind of like, well...that's a good point! So as I fell asleep that Night I repeated over and over again in my head "I can't wait to see what kind of a deal I'm gonna get on my phone!"

The next day arrives and I head back to the Verizon store to get the cheap phone. I bring it up to the counter and as the lady helping me out was doing her thing, when all of the sudden she goes

"oooh!!!"

Naturally curious I ask what she was so excited about... Y'ALL LEMME TELL YOU!

She goes,

"It just popped up that you can get $300 off an iphone!"

Internally my jaw dropped and I screamed (I kept it together for the sake of the other people in the store) GOD REALLY DID DO SOMETHING!! Not only did I get so much money off, but I got an upgraded phone, in my favorite color, AND with upgraded storage for only $15 a month!!! I was ecstatic to say the very least.

There's more!!! I'm going on a trip to California in one week with my cousins, and we got the tickets for super cheap, so this trip was not a financial strain whatsoever! Until, I got a phone-call from my cousin saying it was going to be $100 extra! I was in Costco with my mom and she can vouch for the fact that I was FREAKING out!!!

I just had this amazing moment where God literally came through for me, and yet I still panicked! So after a hot second of freak-idge I realized that maybe, just maybe I should trust God to come through for me again. So instead I kept saying, "I can't wait to see what you're going to do!"

The next morning I was working, and Like I mentioned before, I never got tipped. BUT GOD! I made $100 in tips the morning, which was unheard of for me!!!

When I left work that day, I began to cry in my car, God sees me, he hears me, and he cares so much for me!! I began to realize that I had been believing a lie, that God only bring financial breakthrough to people who REALLY need it, not high school students who just need gas money etc. But his is so not true, God delights to deliver.

The other thing I realized is that I have lived my life not looking for God to do things like this in my life, in fact, if my mother hadn't pointed out the fact that it WAS God's provision I wouldn't have realized ANY of these stories were in fact God's good hand in my life. Sometimes all it takes is looking for God to move, to see how he actually does stuff like this all the time! These stories don't have to be abnormal or few and far between, they can be common occurrences if we just focus on looking for it!

So I want to challenge you to look for God to move, and work on your behalf, he is for you, and is always doing stuff like this, we just need to look for it!
